What it is built on

Nothing exotic, and nothing the client cannot see into. The parts that hold their data are ordinary, boring and theirs.

One number, three jobs

Site capture, meeting capture and the plant assistant all answer on the same WhatsApp number. A single front door works out which one a message belongs to, and everything that speaks back goes out through one shared path.

How it decides

In order. The cheap, certain checks run first, and a model is only consulted when nothing simpler settles it.

  1. 01 Are we mid-conversation? If it is already waiting on an answer from you, the reply belongs to that.
  2. 02 Did you tap a button, or quote a message? Every message sent out is logged, so a reply resolves back to exactly what it answers.
  3. 03 How long is the audio? A note and a meeting recording are different lengths — but only where the answer is obvious either way.
  4. 04 Otherwise, read it This is the only step that costs anything, and it is the last one tried.
  5. 05 Still unclear? Ask A numbered question, with the original message held so nobody has to send it twice.

Asking costs one message. Filing a meeting recording as a site note costs the recording — so every unclear branch ends in a question rather than a confident wrong answer.

Why the database matters

Captures, meetings and plant all land in one place, against the same sites and the same people. That is the only reason the Ask tab can answer a question that crosses a voice note and a meeting in a single reply — and it is the thing that was impossible before.

And I need that sand in before next week's pour, or we're all stood around doing nothing.

Bit of a day. Young lad on the dumper wasn’t wearing his seatbelt and nearly came off when he hit that pothole by the compound — I’ve had a word with him about it. That pothole wants filling before somebody does themselves an injury. Concrete came this morning, six tonne instead of the ten we ordered, so we haven’t got enough to finish plot 2. Sent the short load back and marked it on the docket, and the office are chasing them — they reckon the rest might come later today. Good news is plot 1 is finished. But that shortfall pushes the plot 2 pour out, and they’re forecasting rain tomorrow so it’s blocked anyway.

Eleven rows from one note is arguably too fine. “Reminder given about the seatbelt” is not a separate safety event from the near miss — it is the response to it. A one-line prompt change would fold an observation and its immediate follow-up together and take this to about five rows. Not made: the current behaviour is accurate, just verbose.

Morning. We’re still stood on the bulk dig — the ground down the eastern edge is running wet, it’s not holding a batter at all. The 20 tonne is sat there doing nothing again and it’s been on hire since June. Still nothing back from the drainage authority on the connection — that’s five weeks now. Until that lands we cannot close out the excavation phase.
